The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago is seeking an On-Call Cook who shares a passion for excellence and infuses enthusiasm into everything they do.

We are looking for an energetic, experienced culinary professional with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for service and hospitality. Applicants should be team players willing to accept assignments on an as-needed basis to promote teamwork. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. PM availability is essential.

The On-Call Cook plays a vital role in our Food & Beverage team, preparing specialized, innovative cuisine according to guest orders, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a safe, sanitary work environment. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential. The candidate will work closely with team members to ensure flawless execution of dishes and a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, providing encouragement as needed.
  • Make requisitions for items needed for the next day, with assistance from the Sous Chef.
  • Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintain temperature and HACCP logs; ensure proper dating, labeling, and rotation of food items.
  • Communicate with Sous Chefs and the Executive Sous Chef regarding menu items, issues, or shortages.
  • Ensure adequate supply of materials and prepare the station for service, including setup and cleanup.
  • Prepare and plate items efficiently and accurately, coordinating with cooks on timing.
  • Handle and store food properly, label appropriately, and maintain a clean environment, including COVID-19 protocols.
  • Respond promptly to customer complaints, special requests, and dietary requirements.
  • Maintain professionalism and support hotel safety policies, including emergency procedures.
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as fryers, stoves, steamers, etc.
  • Support other kitchen stations and support duties as assigned.

Candidates must have valid work authorization for the U.S.
