Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing seeks motivated applicants for the Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) role at the Chicopee, MA location. You will deliver Penske and customer vehicles, assist service where needed, and work 0–25 hours weekly depending on business needs.

This casual on-call position requires a valid Class B CDL, clean DMV record, and the ability to read and follow instructions. DOT compliance and travel may be involved, with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• Valid Class B CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions is required.
• Ability to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required.
• English language proficiency is required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Role requires DOT-related compliance including DOT Drug Screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse considerations.

Responsibilities

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of Penske location or customer locations.
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report to location manager if any issues are found.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required.
