Job summary

Dacus Towing & Recovery is seeking a dependable On-Call Tow Truck Driver to provide emergency roadside assistance, towing, and recovery services during evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. You will operate safely, communicate clearly with customers, and maintain professional conduct while supporting our community.

Ideal candidates reside near McPherson, KS, hold a valid CDL, pass a DOT physical, and can report within 15 minutes of dispatch.

Qualifications

• Must reside within 10 minutes of McPherson.
• Available for on-call shifts and report within 15 minutes of dispatch.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid CDL with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and maintain medical certification.
• Ability to obtain required certifications and endorsements.
• Able to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
• Able to work evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays and rotating on-call.

Responsibilities

• Respond to towing and roadside service calls promptly and safely.
• Perform light, medium, and heavy-duty towing and recovery.
• Provide roadside assistance: lockouts, fuel delivery, jump-starts, tire changes, winch-outs.
• Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and others.
• Document calls, update statuses, collect payments, complete reports.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain tools and equipment; follow DOT regulations and safety procedures.
