Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is hiring a Banquet Server for The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club in Virginia Beach. You will assist the Banquet Manager in guest service during functions, set up rooms, greet guests and deliver courses with care, ensuring consistency and satisfaction.

The role requires hotel experience, teamwork, and strong guest relations. Highlights include standing for long periods, serving beverages, and adhering to service standards.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be a team player and willing to pitch in with duties.
• Basic knowledge of food & beverage preparations and service standards.
• Understand guest relations, etiquette and proper table settings.
• Ability to handle labeling instructions and promote menu items.
• Must be able to transport up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Banquet Manager in serving guests during banquet functions.
• Set up banquet room with linens, serviceware and glassware.
• Attend roll call, greet guests, and respond courteously.
• Serve food/beverage, remove dishes, and ensure consistency.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal and corporate alcohol rules.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
• Reset banquet room for next function and maintain readiness.
