Sonesta International Hotels in Austin is seeking a friendly, professional Banquet Server to deliver top-notch service at weddings, conferences, and events. You will help set up, serve, and break down spaces while maintaining presentation and hospitality standards.

The ideal candidate has banquet or food service experience, strong communication and teamwork, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced event environment. Flexible availability including evenings and weekends is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional food & beverage service during banquets, weddings, meetings, conferences, and events.
• Set up, maintain, and break down banquet rooms and spaces per event specifications.
• Serve food and beverages while preserving presentation and timing.
• Assist guests with requests and help create a welcoming event experience.
• Coordinate with banquet captains, culinary teams, bartenders, and leadership for seamless execution.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in banquet spaces and back-of-house areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies at all times.
• Support high-volume event operations with professionalism and guest focus.

What You’ll Be Doing

What you'll be doing:

• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive food & beverage service during banquets, weddings, meetings, conferences, and special events.
• Set up, maintain, and break down banquet rooms, buffets, dining stations, and event spaces according to event specifications and service standards.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining presentation, timing, and hospitality standards throughout events.
• Assist guests with requests, answer questions, and help create a welcoming and memorable event experience.
• Coordinate closely with Banquet Captains, Culinary teams, Bartenders, and Food & Beverage leadership to support seamless event execution.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across banquet spaces, service stations, and back-of-house areas throughout events.
• Follow food safety procedures, sanitation standards, responsible alcohol service guidelines, and hotel operational policies at all times.
• Assist with buffet replenishment, tray passing, table service, beverage service, and event transitions as needed.
• Support high-volume event operations while maintaining professionalism, efficiency, and exceptional guest service.
• Help create a positive, team-oriented, and guest-focused atmosphere aligned with Sonera’s People People culture.
• Any other duties assigned.

What Great Looks Like

• Previous banquet, restaurant, hotel, catering, hospitality, food service, or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and guest service skills with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality and event environment.
• Strong attention to detail, presentation, cleanliness, and operational standards.
• Ability to work flexible schedules based on event timing including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night functions.
• Knowledge of banquet service standards, food safety procedures, and responsible alcohol service practices preferred.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to support the team wherever needed.
• A passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest engagement, and creating memorable event experiences.
