Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Oligo and Bulk Production Supervisor in Des Plaines, Illinois, to lead daily manufacturing operations for oligonucleotide and bulk production within the AMD Molecular Business Unit.

You will direct technical manufacturing staff, partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other teams to optimize processes, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse business environment.
• Strong leadership with ability to provide constructive feedback to improve results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across levels of the organization.
• Multi-tasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of oligonucleotide and bulk technical manufacturing technicians to meet objectives.
• Lead cross-functional teams with Technical Support to enhance capabilities.
• Identify and address training needs for staff.
• Maintain and improve Quality System effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
• Execute production plans to support business needs.
• Promote communication and teamwork across shifts.
• Manage people-related processes, including performance management and assignments.
