Ohio Living Ganzhorn Suites in Ohio is seeking a Cook to prepare, serve and handle meals per dietary guidelines and resident preferences. You will maintain sanitation, assist residents during meals, and support event catering as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ServSafe certification, and at least 1 year of related experience. Strong English communication and the ability to work with a team are essential.

Maintain clean and sanitized dining service areas and assist in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.**Primary Responsibilities:****Food and Inventory**• Identifies and reports food and supplies needed for the next week’s menus. • Assists in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.**Food Preparation and Dining Service**• Prepares menus and cook food in accordance with nutritional guidelines, regulations, and resident’s individual prescribed diet and food preferences. • Presents food in an appetizing and attractive manner. • Assists in fostering residents’ independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment when needed. • Ensures that food is delivered on time and in a pleasant manner. • Visits with residents at each meal when available and ensure quality service. • Prepares food and coordinate food service for special events as requested. • Notifies nutrition coordinator of any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances.**Regulatory Compliance and Sanitation**• Ensures compliance with local health department regulations and the community policies and procedures. • Maintains a clean, organized and safe kitchen environment. • Ensures proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards.**Communications**• Attends all regular staff meetings and required training sessions. • Effectively communicates information pertaining to the residents on a “need to know” basis to other team members according to the community policies and procedures. • Notify your supervisor or the clinical director if you observe a change in a resident’s condition. • Accountable for compliance, excellence and delivery of resident care in adherence with organization, local, state and federal regulations. • Maintains a positive and professional manner toward residents, visitors, families and co-workers. • Adheres to all policies and procedures of Ohio Living.**Qualifications****Education**• High school diploma or equivalent required. • Obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates. • Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified**Experience**• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets • Experience in cooking for large groups**Other Requirements**• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.**Physical Job Requirements**To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical task for extended periods of time.
