Job summary

SECURE, located in Williston, North Dakota, invites motivated students to join as an Operator Trainee Student to support daily waste treatment, oil treatment, and water injection activities. You will learn from seasoned Operators, focusing on plant processes, safety practices, and customer service requirements.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning, seasonal workload flexibility, and potential exposure to the financial and business sides of facility operations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available May–August.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of required pre-employment testing.
• Valid safety certifications as required (H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space, WHMIS, TDG).
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support safe daily operation of waste treatment, oil treatment, and water injection activities.
• Assist with seasonal operational requirements (leachate management, stormwater pond management, vegetation control).
• Provide coverage during vacations and peak workloads.
• Assist with truck unloading activities and related documentation.
• Support boiler operations, testing, and basic pump maintenance.
• Complete plant inspections and follow SOPs/SWPs and safety processes.
• Interact professionally with customers and provide high level service.
