Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Fuel and lubricate heavy equipment, trucks, and machinery at job sites.
  • Check and maintain fluid levels (oil, coolant, hydraulic, transmission, DEF, etc.).
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Document service and maintenance performed in logs or electronic systems.
  • Operate fuel truck and service vehicles safely to deliver fuel, oil, and supplies to job sites.
  • Monitor and report equipment condition and repairs needed.
  • Follow safety standards and procedures (OSHA, MSHA, union).
  • Assist mechanics and operators with minor repairs or service tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fueling equipment and service truck.
  • Adhere to union work rules, dispatching requirements, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Participate in load testing procedures to verify crane capacity.
  • Identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns.
  • Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Use PPE and maintain a clean work area.
  • Attend safety trainings and toolbox talks.
  • Communicate effectively with crane operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors.
  • Provide feedback to maintenance team on equipment performance.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary

As an Oiler/Driver, the primary responsibility is to assist crane operators for fueling, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, and crane machinery, as well as transporting fuel and supplies to job sites. This role ensures equipment is properly serviced, safe, and ready for daily operation while following company policies, and safety standards

Must be a member of or willing to join International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) local 101

Key Responsibilities
  • Fuel and lubricate heavy equipment, trucks, and machinery at job sites.
  • Check and maintain fluid levels (oil, coolant, hydraulic, transmission, DEF, etc.).
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, such as filter changes, greasing, and inspections.
  • Document service and maintenance performed in logs or electronic systems.
  • Operate fuel truck and other service vehicles safely to deliver fuel, oil, and supplies to job sites.
  • Monitor and report equipment condition, identifying issues that may require repairs.

  • Attend safety training sessions and toolbox talks to stay informed about best practices and hazard awareness.
  • Communicate effectively with crane operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritize tasks.
  • Provide feedback to the maintenance team regarding equipment performance and maintenance needs.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

  • Previous experience in maintenance or mechanical work, preferably in a heavy equipment or industrial setting.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Valid & Active CDL
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and at heights.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to safety and adherence to site-specific protocols.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring manual labor, lifting, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
    Comfortable working in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
    Capable of standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
  • Grip, hold, operate objects, tools and/or controls.
  • Ascend/Descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
  • Work Environment:
    Construction sites, industrial facilities, or shipyards.
    Exposure to varying weather conditions and loud machinery.
