The Oiler is an entry-level field position that works alongside our crane operators, truck drivers, and rigging crews on local jobsites. This role is ideal for someone with construction or other outdoor labor experience who isn't yet a fully qualified rigger but wants the opportunity to learn the industry from the ground up.

This is a hands-on job. Oilers are expected to show up ready to work, follow direction, help wherever needed, and contribute to keeping the crew safe and productive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist crane operators with crane setup, assembly, and breakdown.
  • Assist with installing and removing crane counterweights and other crane components.
  • Signal crane operators during lifting and crane operations as directed and when qualified to do so.
  • Assist truck drivers with loading, unloading, and positioning equipment, counterweights, rigging, and materials.
  • Help prepare and organize the jobsite for crane and lifting operations.
  • Handle rigging equipment, mats, cribbing, tools, and other jobsite materials.
  • Maintain clean and organized cranes, trucks, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow instructions from crane operators, drivers, riggers, supervisors, and other crew leadership.
  • Assist the crew with general labor and jobsite duties as assigned.
  • Follow all Americrane and customer safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE at all times while on the jobsite.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational and jobsite needs.

Required PPE must be worn and properly used at all times in accordance with company, customer, and jobsite requirements. Additional PPE may be required depending on the specific work being performed.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous construction, industrial, oilfield, heavy equipment, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
