Job summary

Chevron Corporation seeks a Field Specialist in Carlsbad to operate and monitor upstream production facilities and midstream systems. You will troubleshoot, maintain and optimize wells, pumps, and safety devices while coordinating with control rooms to maximize uptime.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year in oil and gas, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. A 8/6 shift rotation includes nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of oil and gas industry experience.
• Rotational schedule 8/6; night shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support HSE processes and comply with regulations.
• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain oil and gas production equipment.
• Coordinate with Integrated Operations Center to optimize wells and equipment.
• Perform duties associated with oil and gas producing operations, including wells, water disposal, and gas compressors.
• Optimize artificial lift systems (gas lift, ESP, rod pump, plunger).
• Operate VRU and gas blanket systems; transfer pumps.
• Test wells and safety devices; collect fluid level data.
• Monitor SCADA and input data into CMMS; create work orders.
• Ensure compliance with Chevron's Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements.
