Job summary

Danos, LLC is seeking an Automation Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automation and control systems on oil and gas production facilities. You will work with PLC/RTU, SCADA, HMIs, instrumentation, and field equipment to keep operations safe and productive.

The role requires field travel, the ability to work outdoors, read electrical drawings, and perform preventive maintenance. You will document repairs and coordinate with startup and commissioning tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have automation, instrumentation, I&E, or controls experience in oil and gas.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, and field instrumentation.
• Strong ability to diagnose electrical and control-system issues.
• Ability to work outdoors and travel between field locations.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel as required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation and control equipment on oil and gas production facilities.
• Install, configure, calibrate, and test instrumentation and automation devices.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and associated communication equipment.
• Work with pressure, temperature, level, and flow instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot control valves, transmitters, switches, sensors, and actuators.
• Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, communication, and control-system issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on automation equipment.
• Support automation associated with wells, tank batteries, separators, compressors, pumps, SWDs, and other production equipment.
• Assist with new equipment installations, startups, commissioning, and system upgrades.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and control schematics.
• Document repairs, maintenance activities, equipment changes, and troubleshooting findings.
• Respond to field callouts and automation-related production issues as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable electrical and operational standards.
