Job summary

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) at NSA/CSS conducts independent oversight to promote wise use of resources, ensure laws and regulations are followed, and protect civil liberties. It conducts audits, inspections, and investigations to deter fraud, waste, and misconduct, and oversees the annual financial statement audit.

Selected auditors will oversee NSA/CSS financials, program performance, and IT/cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Degree in any field acceptable.
• Relevant experience in security, auditing, or IT security.
• Experience in government oversight or investigative roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures applying analytical and business skills.
• Contribute to research, planning and testing activities.
• Understand and document agency business process and associated controls.
• Research applicable laws, directives, regulations, manuals, prior studies, and audit reports to gain knowledge of areas audited.
• Assist audit leadership in conferences with stakeholders to explain objectives and conclusions.
• Discuss audit objectives and conclusions with stakeholders to obtain positions and data.
• Independently execute segments of an audit guide as directed by the Auditor-in-Charge.
• Conduct technical testing to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Prepare workpapers and evidentiary data to support audit conclusions.
• Prepare outline of potential findings including condition, cause, effect, criteria, and recommendations.
• Assist in drafting final reports and developing findings and recommendations.
• Maintain security and accountability of classified information.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in any field

High school diploma or GED with required experience
