Ohio Christian Education Network (OCEN) seeks an Executive Director to lead advocacy for Christian education in Ohio from its Columbus office, with statewide travel as needed. The role reports to the CEN Executive Director and oversees program development, partnerships, and fundraising.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in Christian education, strong research/writing skills, and proven leadership in large membership networks. This is a full-time, salaried position with comprehensive benefits.

• Flexible with shifting priorities and driven by organizational goals.
• Able to master tools like CRM systems independently.

Responsibilities

• Champion Christian education and advocate for every child in Ohio to have access to a Christian school.
• Lead a growing network membership among evangelical and Catholic schools in the state.
• Establish and expand membership services that create an attractive value proposition for member schools.
• Spearhead education policy development and advocacy to help member schools fulfill their mission.
• Cultivate relationships with state lawmakers, officials, and organizations that influence education policy.
• Oversee OCEN’s school planting initiative for new Christian schools across the state.
• Create a Leadership Council of administrators from member schools for input and guidance.
• Operate within the cooperative agreement with the Christian Education Network.
• Drive growth of OCEN scholarship granting organization.

Job description

The Ohio Christian Education Network (OCEN) Executive Director leads the movement to advance and protect Christian Education in Ohio. With the assistance of the Christian Education Network and the state Leadership Council, the Executive Director will become a leading voice for Christian education in the state.

Reports to: CEN Executive Director

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Compensation: Full-time, Salaried/Exempt

Location: CCV Office in Columbus, Ohio, with Occasional Statewide Travel

Key Responsibilities

• Champion Christian education and advocate for every child in Ohio to have access to a Christian school.
• Lead a growing network membership among both evangelical and Catholic schools in the state.
• Establish and expand membership services that create an attractive value proposition for member schools.
• Spearhead education policy development and advocacy that will allow member schools to successfully fulfill their mission and resolve the education crisis in Ohio.
• Cultivate relationship with key state lawmakers, executive branch officials, and other organizations and networks that influence education policy.
• Oversee OCEN’s school planting initiative to assist churches or other organizations with the opening of new Christian schools across the state.
• Create a Leadership Council comprised of administrators from member schools to provide input and guidance from members.
• Operate within the cooperative agreement with the Christian Education Network.
• Drive the growth of OCEN scholarship granting organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Undergraduate degree required.
• 10+ years of work in Christian Education.
• Strong ability to conduct in-depth research and produce clear, well-structured written content.

• Demonstrates excellent time management, punctuality, and ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Flexible with shifting priorities, proactive in addressing knowledge gaps, and driven by a strong personal commitment to organizational goals.
• Embraces technology to improve performance and capable of mastering tools like CRM systems independently.

Character and Spiritual

• Mature Christian, currently attending or pursuing attendance in a local church.
• Agreement with and adherence to CCV’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
• Demonstrated commitment to CCV’s mission and position on Core Issues.
• Ability to work discreetly with confidential information.
