Mental Health Services for Clark & Madison Counties is seeking a Peer Support Advocate to promote recovery, self-determination, and independence for clients in outpatient and primary care settings. The role supports wellbeing and trauma-informed care, requires youth peer support experience and Ohio certification (or within 90 days).

The position involves travel between MHS primary care offices to provide peer support, requires CPR/First Aid, and adherence to safety and Joint Commission

Qualifications

• Must have current Ohio Peer Support Specialist certification or obtain within 90 days.
• Experience in Youth Peer Support required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• CPR (BLS)/First Aid certification.

Responsabilités

• Supporting individuals in achieving personal independence as identified by the individual in recovery.
• Encouraging hope and developing life skills such as budgeting and connecting to community resources toward recovery goals.
• Modeling personal responsibility for recovery.
• Teaching skills to navigate the health care delivery system and connect with providers.
• Providing training to patients to address barriers to seeking or maintaining recovery, employment, education or housing.
• Assisting with accessing and developing natural support systems in the community.
• Coordinating or assisting in crisis interventions or stabilization as needed.
• Complete GPRA in timely manner for all eligible primary care clinic patients.
• Ability to travel between outpatient offices to provide peer support to patients.
• Follows universal precautions and safety standards.
• Adhere to professional standards, policies and procedures and Joint Commission standards.
