Job summary

South Coast Marines Limited Nigeria seeks a capable Second Engineer to support the Chief Engineer aboard offshore vessels. You will oversee daily engine room operations, supervise junior engineers, and ensure maintenance of auxiliary machinery to uphold safety and efficiency. Candidates must hold a valid CoC – Second Engineer (Reg.

III/2) and STCW certifications. Offshore experience, strong leadership, and familiarity with international maritime conventions are essential; a rotational schedule

Qualifications

• Minimum required sea-time experience as an engineering officer.
• Strong knowledge of auxiliary machinery and engine room operations.
• Experience supervising junior engineering staff.
• Familiarity with international maritime conventions and offshore operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engine room operations.
• Maintain and service auxiliary engines and generators.
• Supervise Oilers and engine ratings.
• Assist with record keeping, including the Oil Record Book.
• Support the Chief Engineer in technical management and maintenance planning.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures.
