Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking an Offshore Marine Technician – Fire and Gas in Harvey, LA. You will install, inspect, test, and repair fire and gas detection and life-safety systems on offshore facilities and vessels, ensuring compliance with USCG, ABS, NFPA, and manufacturer standards.

Requirements include 5+ years offshore experience, knowledge of detectors and control panels, and credentials such as TWIC, CA-EBS, SafeGulf, and Louisiana endorsements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years offshore experience servicing fire detection, gas detection, alarm, or related safety systems.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
• OPITO-approved THUET with CA-EBS and current SafeGulf certification; Louisiana Fire Marshal endorsements advisable.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, calibrate, function-test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair fixed fire and gas detection systems.
• Verify alarm, shutdown, and notification functions per procedures and site requirements.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, loop drawings, P&IDs, and cause-and-effect matrices.
• Use test equipment and manufacturer software to diagnose faults and document results.
• Complete service reports, inspection records, and calibration certificates accurately.
