Job summary

Worley Group, Inc in Houston is seeking an Offshore Field Engineer to provide on-site technical, coordination, and execution support for offshore activities related to the Equinor Titan Decommissioning Project. You will ensure field operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering deliverables and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or offshore technical experience.
  • Offshore engineering/construction experience in decommissioning, subsea, marine, or heavy-lift operations.
  • Strong understanding of offshore work packs, lifting operations, subsea recovery, pipeline/umbilical activities, and vessel operations.
  • Familiarity with SIMOPS, ORR/TRR processes, IM/DC systems, and offshore safety and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, situational awareness, and problem-solving skills in dynamic offshore environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time engineering support to offshore supervisors, vessel crews, construction teams, and subsea contractors during execution.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work packs, lift plans, cutting plans, and procedures; ensure correct implementation in the field.
  • Verify offshore equipment, tools, rigging, consumables, and materials match engineering requirements and readiness expectations.
  • Support offshore activities such as heavy lifts, subsea retrievals, pipeline/umbilical operations, mechanical disconnections, and deck operations.
  • Ensure adherence to SIMOPS requirements, exclusion zones, marine coordination instructions, and vessel operating envelopes.
  • Monitor field operations for sequence accuracy, technical compliance, and safe execution.
  • Capture offshore daily progress, quantities, weather impacts, delays, and resource usage for reporting to onshore teams.
  • Record field redlines, measurements, photos, and evidence to support as-built documentation and close-out.
  • Provide daily/weekly technical updates to engineering, construction, marine coordination, and project management.

Role Summary

The Offshore Field Engineer provides on-site technical, coordination, and execution support for all offshore activities associated with the Equinor Titan Decommissioning Project. This role ensures field operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering deliverables, work packs, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Offshore Field Engineer acts as the primary technical link between onshore engineering teams and offshore execution crews.

Key Responsibilities
Offshore Technical Support & Execution Coordination
  • Provide real-time engineering support to offshore supervisors, vessel crews, construction teams, and subsea contractors during execution.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work packs, lift plans, cutting plans, and procedures; ensure correct implementation in the field.
  • Verify offshore equipment, tools, rigging, consumables, and materials match engineering requirements and readiness expectations.
Construction, Marine & Subsea Operations Support
  • Support offshore activities such as heavy lifts, subsea retrievals, pipeline/umbilical operations, mechanical disconnections, and deck operations.
  • Ensure adherence to SIMOPS requirements, exclusion zones, marine coordination instructions, and vessel operating envelopes.
  • Monitor field operations for sequence accuracy, technical compliance, and safe execution.
Work Pack, Procedure & Readiness Verification
  • Ensure offshore crews understand the scope, constraints, risk controls, and step-by-step sequence contained in work packs and procedures.
  • Support readiness by validating offshore documentation, permits, checklists, and equipment/crew preparedness.
  • Capture as-found conditions, deviations, and field constraints requiring engineering updates or MoC.
Quality, SSU & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure operations comply with Life‑Saving Rules, critical SSU controls, and environmental/regulatory requirements.
  • Document NCRs, CARs, field observations, and improvement actions, escalating as required.
  • Support regulatory compliance activities involving BSEE, BOEM, USCG, and environmental monitoring as applicable.
Field Reporting, Documentation & Close‑Out
  • Capture offshore daily progress, quantities, weather impacts, delays, and resource usage for reporting to onshore teams.
  • Record field redlines, measurements, photos, and evidence to support as-built documentation and close‑out.
  • Provide daily/weekly technical updates to engineering, construction, marine coordination, and project management.
Interface & Communication
  • Serve as the offshore technical liaison to onshore engineering, construction management, marine operations, and project controls.
  • Relay field issues, constraints, material shortages, and engineering queries to ensure timely resolution.
  • Support coordination between vessel command, construction leads, ROV teams, and subcontractor field engineers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, structural, marine, subsea, or related discipline) or demonstrated offshore technical experience.
  • Offshore engineering/construction experience in decommissioning, subsea, marine, or heavy‑lift operations.
  • Strong understanding of offshore work packs, lifting operations, subsea recovery, pipeline/umbilical activities, and vessel operations.
  • Familiarity with SIMOPS, ORR/TRR processes, IM/DC systems, and offshore safety and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, situational awareness, and problem‑solving skills in dynamic offshore environments.
