Job summary

Graphic Packaging International in Groveport, OH is seeking an Offset Printing Press Operator to safely operate and maintain an offset press, producing folding cartons. The role requires prior printing experience, a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot quality issues, with color differentiation as needed.

Shifts include nights (7pm–7am) and days (7am–7pm) with a night differential, pay up to $35+ per hour depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

  • Must have prior printing experience as either an Operator I or Operator II with related duties.
  • In-depth understanding of printing concepts
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • General math skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and quality issues
  • Post-secondary education in printing technologies a plus

Responsibilities

  • Machine setup, adjustments and make readies
  • Troubleshooting of machine and quality issues
  • Assist with maintenance, machine setups, etc.
  • Completion of product and process audits
  • Exchange of information with shifts
  • Adherence to quality specifications
  • Identification of product/process enhancements to improve efficiencies
  • Production schedule output and timeframes
  • Lead work crew to meet production goals
  • Attend team meetings
  • Must be able to differentiate colors
  • Train new team members to ensure duties are performed efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Enforce compliance with GMP/AIB/Safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Summary

The Offset Printing Press Operator role is responsible for safely operating and maintaining an Offset Printing Press to efficiently and effectively manufacture folding cartons.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with maintenance, machine setups, etc.

  • Identification of product/process enhancements to improve efficiencies, reduce downtime & spoilage
  • Production schedule output and timeframes
  • Effectively leading work crew to meet production goals
  • Attend team meetings
  • Must be able to differentiate colors
  • Train new team members to ensure job duties are performed efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Enforcing compliance with all company policies (GMP/AIB/Safety)
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
Education And Experience
  • Must have prior printing experience as either an Operator l or Operator II with related job duties and responsibilities.
  • In-depth understanding of printing concepts
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • General math skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and quality issues
  • Post-secondary education in printing technologies a plus
Job Specifications
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Ability to stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Visual Color Discrimination - the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as within a team

Pay: Up to $35+ dependent on experience

Shifts: Nights, Mill Shift, 7p to 7a / Days, Mill Shift, 7a to 7p

Hours Worked: 36.0 one week and 48.0 the next week

Night Shift Differential: $2 per hour
