Job summary

The Great Lakes Construction Co. is seeking an Office Survey Technician to support the Lead Office Survey Technician and field crew. You will create, check, and update electronic CAD drawings, 3D models, and PDFs for assigned construction projects.

You’ll read plans accurately, produce reports and quantities, and communicate daily with the survey manager. Strong knowledge of Autodesk software and MS Office is required, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Four years of survey experience in the construction industry.
• Associate degree plus two years of industry-specific experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field preferred.
• Accuracy in reading engineering plans.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based applications.
• Proficiency with Autodesk and Civil-Survey software programs.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and problem solver.
• Excellent time-management and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust timelines.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Builds 3D surface models for GPS grading.
• Ensures accurate plan verifications.
• Produces volume quantities, reports, drawings, and spreadsheets.
• Reads and interprets engineering plans.
• Communicates with the survey manager daily.
• Generates project stakeout data information from survey software.
• Interprets construction plans and performs field calculations.
• Uploads/downloads data files and photographs.
• Assists field survey team as needed.
