Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) seeks an experienced administrative/operational support professional to assist multiple physician practices in NJ and NYC coverage. You will handle patient inquiries, scheduling, pre-authorizations, check-in/out, and EMR documentation, ensuring a seamless patient experience.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in a physician office setting, strong communication, and customer service skills.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required; 5+ years physician office experience may substitute.
  • Experience in healthcare or medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $30.77 - $46.84. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What you will be doing

Job Description:

NJ Primary, NYC secondary coverage

In this role you will provide comprehensive administrative/operational support to several HSS physician practices and contribute to an environment of clinical excellence. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • answering phone calls and patient inquiries
  • scheduling patient appointments and procedures
  • obtaining insurance pre-certifications and authorizations for treatments and diagnostic procedures
  • patient check-in/out, including copay collection
  • scanning documents into the EMR
  • any additional tasks as assigned

Staff in this role will fill long term and/or short term operational gaps in physician offices across all services, to ensure a seamless patient experience at all times. Commuting to our NYC offices and two other regional sites are required in this role.
