Job description
Transportation Engineering Group Manager / Office Executive

Location: Corpus Christi, TX | Leadership Opportunity with Regional Impact

Are you a senior-level transportation engineer ready to take the reins of an established office and lead it into its next phase of growth? We’re representing a Texas-based civil engineering and surveying firm that’s looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Group Manager / Office Executive to head up their Corpus Christi operation.

This is more than just a technical leadership role—it’s an opportunity to shape strategy, build a client base, grow a high-performing team, and play a key role in expanding market presence across South Texas. You'll lead both transportation design work and overall office operations, with direct impact on projects, people, and long-term vision.

Why This Role Stands Out:
  • Dual Leadership Role: Own the transportation practice and lead the Corpus Christi office’s strategic growth and culture.

  • Make Your Mark: Supported by strong technical resources and a well-regarded brand, you'll help scale a key regional office.

  • TXDOT-Focused Work: Be at the forefront of planning and executing PS&E packages, schematics, and drainage systems for major roadway and infrastructure projects across Texas.

  • Culture & Collaboration: Enjoy a people-first culture with cross-disciplinary collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and deep-rooted ties to the local and state transportation community.

  • Benefits That Compete: PTO, bonuses, 401(k) with match, medical/dental/vision, disability insurance, education reimbursement, and even pet insurance.

Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Leadership
  • Oversee the design, management, and delivery of TxDOT transportation projects—including schematics, PS&E, hydrology, TCPs, and drainage design.

  • Lead project teams of engineers, designers, and support staff while ensuring quality, compliance, and budget alignment.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with TxDOT and local municipalities throughout the Corpus Christi District and beyond.

  • Lead pursuit efforts on new contracts and actively contribute to technical proposal development.

Office Executive Functions
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Corpus Christi office—shaping growth, culture, and client engagement.

  • Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership on marketing strategies, pipeline development, and staff planning.

  • Enhance collaboration across departments and disciplines by championing communication, transparency, and innovation.

  • Help recruit and retain top talent, foster employee engagement, and lead change as a culture ambassador.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; Master’s a plus.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Texas (or able to obtain within 3 months).

  • Strong background in TxDOT transportation design, including PS&E and schematic work.

  • Proven leadership in office, team, or project management settings.

  • Familiarity with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) is essential.

  • Solid understanding of risk management, project performance metrics, and QA/QC practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—able to build trust with clients, lead teams, and drive results.

If you're a transportation leader who enjoys blending technical excellence with strategic oversight—and you're ready to grow something meaningful in one of Texas’ most active markets—this could be your next big step.
