Job summary

A Caring Alternative, LLC is seeking a part-time non-clinical operations coordinator to organize, coordinate, and monitor all non-clinical functions of the SUD Team at our Morganton site.

The ideal candidate will manage records, billing data, and communications while supporting daily team activities and regulatory reporting. Strong MS Office skills and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of professional adult substance use work experience.
  • Must be in acceptable standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in clinical services, primary and behavioral health care integration, and training/implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and coordinate the management information system.
  • Manage medical records.
  • Maintain accounting and budget records for expenditures.
  • Provide support to the team by handling calls and walk-ins.
  • Triaging and coordinating communication between team and individuals.
  • Participate in daily team meetings; assist with organizational record keeping and scheduling.
  • Assist with biochemical assays and record results.
  • Collect data and generate reports for ACA, MCOs, funding bodies and regulators.
  • Answer the telephone and greet the public.
  • Verify units authorized and dates.
  • Enter Authorizations into the electronic medical records system.
  • Link medical records requested by authorized vendors (hospitals, MCO, etc).
  • Assist business office in tracking denials.
  • Assist with discharges, transitions, and admissions.

The primary function of this position is to organize, coordinate, and monitor all non-clinical operations of the SUD Team.

Substance Use Disorder Services (SUD) provides structured individual and group addiction activities and are provided at an outpatient program designed to assist adult a time-limited, multi-faceted approach treatment service for adults to begin recovery and learn skills for recovery maintenance. These services are provided during day and evening hours to enable beneficiaries to maintain residence in their community, continue to work or go to school, and to be a part of their family life.

Job Duties Include
  • Operate and coordinate the management information system.

  • Collect data and generate reports as required by ACA, MCO’s, funding bodies (Burke County Opioid Grant) and accrediting/regulatory bodies.
  • Answer the telephone and greet the public.
  • Verify units authorized and dates.
  • Enter Authorizations into the electronic medical records system.
  • Link medical records requested by authorized vendors (i.e. hospitals, MCO, etc).
  • Assist business office in tracking denials.
  • Assist with discharges, transitions, and admissions.
Basic Job Requirements
  • Ability to perform tasks on the computer including working with Microsoft 360, Excel, Word and other basic programs.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance coverage and reliable transportation.
  • Pass criminal background check and other regulatory checks.
  • Provide proof of your education.
Licensure/Certification Requirements

CNA II, CMA, NC Med Tech Certification.

Education And Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of professional adult substance use work experience
  • Must be at an acceptable standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills. High level proficiency in Microsoft Office- MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Education And Experience Preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience in clinical services, primary and behavioral health care integration, organizational change processes, and consultation and training development/implementation. experience treating individuals with SPMI.
