Job summary

Virtua Health in Washington is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support patient flow, scheduling, and billing in a busy clinic. The role offers hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary environment and exposure to insurance verification and patient registration.

Ideal candidates have strong communication skills and 0–2 years of medical office experience, with a HS diploma or equivalent. On-site work with a 40-hour week is expected, with competitive hourly compensation and benefits.

  • Performs billing functions such as entering charges and payments, collecting co-pays, reconciling batches and preparing deposits.
  • Responsible for preparing referrals and obtaining pre-certifications as required.
  • May train and direct office assistants at sites, including preparation of work and training schedules. Acts as office resource and mentoring role model.

Summary

Hourly Rate: $18.69 - $26.01The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
