Job summary

Tg Missouri Corporation is seeking a Lead Operator for a manufacturing facility in Kentucky. The role requires at least 1 year of lead operator or equivalent manufacturing experience, with knowledge of the Toyota Production System and Kanban practices.

Candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills, reliable attendance, and the ability to lead problem solving while adhering to safety and environmental procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word is preferred.

Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs pre-shift and post-shift checks.
  • Equipment readiness prior to shift.
  • Covers for supervisors/employees when absent.
  • Lead problem solving activities.
  • Has knowledge of all production processes/products.
  • Respond to quality issues within shift.
  • Perform quality checks (first, middle and last piece checks)
  • Standardized work training and verification.
  • Ensure 2S1F rules are followed.
  • Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1 year Lead Operator experience or 1-year previous manufacturing experience in equivalent position.

80% process experience in current position and special knowledge for processes.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Clear, concise written and verbal skills and problem-solving skills required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Experience using Microsoft office systems, Excel and Word a plus

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, First Shift - 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2 nd Shift – 1:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. or Sunday through Thursday, Third Shift – 9:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. Occasional overtime throughout the week and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
