Off-Road Truck Driver

Brice Construction & Design LLC is a proud subsidiary of the Calista Corporation, the second largest Alaska Native Corporation. What can you expect?

As the Off-Road Truck Driver, you are responsible for operating heavy equipment such as an articulating rock truck, water truck, and FOG/Mechanics truck. You will load, transport, and dump materials safely and efficiently at project sites.

How will you do it?
  • Perform daily end dump truck operations.
  • Secure loads correctly and within load limits to safely transport with miscellaneous trailers.
  • Keep an accurate truck count of loads hauled and report the loads to the site engineer daily.
  • Perform truck and equipment inspections and preventative maintenance required to ensure safe and continual service of equipment.
  • Perform greasing on specific high‑wear parts throughout the day.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Communicate well over the phone and/or radio.
  • Follow site equipment signs and traffic regulations laid out by project management.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and attend safety meetings.
  • Stay focused and complete tasks safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure company equipment is stored safely.
  • Coordinate machine actions with crew members using hand or audio signals.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of construction materials, terms, and practices.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of safe tool and equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle and equipment inspection, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Skill in inspecting equipment for safety and maintenance purposes.
  • Math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to follow instructions, respond to directions, and be accountable for own actions.
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action and report unsafe conditions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, take direction from supervisors, maintain attention to detail, follow work rules, and adhere to schedule.
  • Ability to prioritize as directed and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong self‑motivation and work ethic; ability to work without direct supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of aggregate materials hauling experience required.
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mining truck operator experience preferred.
  • End‑dump and articulating truck experience preferred.
  • Valid Class B driver’s license preferred.
