Job summary

Truist in Wilson, NC is seeking an experienced sanctions investigator to conduct timely investigations of alerts related to clients, transactions, and trade documents to ensure compliance with OFAC and other sanctions laws. The role requires collaboration with Relationship Managers and teammates, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently under deadlines.

Regular sanctions/AML training is expected.

Qualifications

• Investigate sanctions-related alerts for clients, transactions, and trade documents to support compliance.
• Communicate findings with Relationship Managers and teammates to gather information
• Apply analytical thinking to decide disposition of alerts and follow-up actions
• Maintain knowledge of current and proposed sanctions laws and regulations to stay compliant
• Participate in sanctions/AML training such as webinars and readings to stay updated
• Liaise among internal teams and external entities to ensure proper escalation and resolution
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer applications and documentation for record-keeping
• Develop substantiated conclusions with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely investigations, analysis, and disposition of sanctions-related alerts for clients, transactions, trade documents, and other business unit activities to support Truist’s compliance with applicable sanctions laws and regulations.
• Communicate with senior Relationship Managers and team members to gather information needed for investigations.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal sanctions-related questions and support.
• Apply analytical skills to decide disposition of alerts and follow-up actions.
• Use screening tools to assess sanctions risk and exposure.
• Maintain knowledge of current and proposed sanctions laws and regulations.
• Participate in sanctions/AML training (webinars, readings) to stay updated.
• Stay aware of sanctions news and industry trends to mitigate risk for Truist.
