Greece Central School District is seeking an Odyssey/Olympia Baseball Assistant Coach for Spring 2026-2027. The ideal candidate holds a NYS teaching certificate in Physical Education or a related subject, a Professional Coaching Certificate or eligibility for Temporary Coaching License, and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Fingerprinting and NYSED clearance are required before start. The role focuses on developing a competitive baseball program, coordinating in-season and off-season

Formación

• Valid New York State teaching certificate in Physical Education (K-12) or another classroom subject area, a Professional Coaching Certificate, or eligibility for a Temporary Coaching License, valid and acceptable First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates for coaches at the time of appointment.
• The following coursework is required and must be completed prior to being appointed as a coach: Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse; SAVE; DASA; Concussion.
• Willingness to enroll in and complete the Coaching Course Options within the first two years of coaching.
• All new employees must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment through the NYS Education Department before employment begins.

• Years of overall coaching experience; Years of coaching experience in a specific sport; Years of coaching experience at various levels (Youth Organizations, Modified, Junior Varsity and/or Varsity).
• Performance in previous coaching positions; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and positively with students and parents.
• Develop and manage a strong grade 7-12 athletic program; Oversee in-season and off-season conditioning and strength program.
• Expand and develop an in-community feeder program; Develop a unified and committed coaching staff.

Requirements for New and Returning Coaches:

• A valid New York State teaching certificate in Physical Education (K-12) or another classroom subject area, a Professional Coaching Certificate, or eligibility for a Temporary Coaching License, valid and acceptable First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates for coaches at the time of appointment.

Coaching Selection Criteria:

• Years of overall coaching experience;


• Years of coaching experience in a specific sport;

• Performance in previous coachingpositions;


• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and positively with students and parents;


• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a strong grade 7-12 athletic program;


• Demonstrated ability to oversee an in-season and off-season conditioning and strength program;


• Demonstrated ability to expand and develop an in-community feeder program;


• Demonstrated ability to develop a unified and committed coaching staff;


• Demonstrated ability to emphasize academics sportsmanship, and chemical-free sports participation;


• Demonstrated ability to encourage multiple sport participation by team members
