JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. is seeking an Ocean Import Supervisor in New York to manage daily ocean import operations and liaise with the Import Manager. The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and customer service excellence.
Qualified candidates will have 4–6 years in ocean imports, FDA experience, and a strong knowledge of ISF procedures, with the ability to coordinate across departments and vendors to ensure on-time deliveries.
JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
The Ocean Import Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day ocean import operations, ensuring accurate and timely handling of shipments in accordance with company and customer expectations. This role supports the Import Manager in executing operational goals and is a key liaison between the operations team and leadership to help maintain process efficiency and high service standards.
High School diploma or GED.
4-6 years experience in ocean imports or combination of education and expertise.
Experience and knowledge regarding import entry procedures, compliance, rules and regulations.
FDA Experience is required.
Knowledge of ISF & ISF procedures.
Knowledge of POA & FPOA entry processes.
Good working knowledge of FDA & OGA transactions.
Knowledge of requirements related to Lacey Act & PPQ form 505.
Knowledge of TIB / CARNETS.
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
In accordance with New York state law, we are committed to providing pay transparency to all job applicants. For this position, the annual pay range is $75-85K/year depending on qualifications and experience. This range represents the full compensation potential for this role, and the specific compensation offered to the selected candidate will be based on factors such as skills, experience, and other relevant qualifications.
