UK King’s Daughters in Ashland, KY seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to deliver direct patient care under OT plans. Responsible for delivering direct patient care according to treatment plans established by occupational therapists. Assists in implementing therapeutic interventions to promote functional independence and safety for diverse patient populations. Supports program development and departmental initiatives under supervision. Provides customer service and ensures adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Associates Degree in Applied Science in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE accredited school or equivalent
0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part‑time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
This position requires regular standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; intermittent lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds; intermittent standing or walking with objects up to 25 pounds; intermittent performance of tasks involving repetitive motion; occasional sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and intermittent exposure to risk of back injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials. Also involves occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and bloodborne or airborne pathogens.
