Job summary

Lakeland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our compassionate rehab team. You will work with an interdisciplinary group to provide high-quality care, screen residents, and help them achieve goals as outlined in the plan of care.

Must hold a Florida professional license with licensure by discipline; LTC experience is preferred, but new grads are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assisting program.
• Must have a valid Florida professional license by discipline.
• Prefer at least one year experience in LTC, but qualified new grads will be considered.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence.
• Passionate about post-acute rehabilitation and the older adult population.
• Ability to relate and interact positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, family, professional, and facility staff.

Responsibilities

• Screen residents as appropriate by practice acts, including history, systems review, applications of appropriate tests and measures, and implement precautions from the plan of care.
• Provide treatment to residents following the plan of care, working towards the treatment goal in collaboration with the resident and caregivers.
• Complete all related documentation required for those services.
• Supervise temporary licensees, students, and support staff in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
• Attend and contribute to resident care, staff conferences, and other related meetings.
• Consult with and make referrals to other disciplines, agencies, and healthcare providers to address the comprehensive needs of our residents.
