Job summary

Powerback Rehabilitation is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant for mobile outpatient therapy across Worcester, Auburn to Westborough, MA. The role supports ALF/ILF and community settings with a focus on improving functional independence.

Travel within designated areas is required and a valid MA OTA license is essential. The team offers mentorship for new grads, continuing education opportunities, and a range of benefits for both full- and part-time staff, including visa

Qualifications

  • Must have an active OT Assistant license in MA or eligible for licensure.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to patient residences.
  • Part-time schedule: 20–28 hours per week, mobile outpatient therapy across ALF/ILF and community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute to patient care and staff meetings as the OT team representative.
  • Adhere to treatment schedules and complete timely clinical and billing documentation.
  • Develop individualized therapy programs with the rehab team to meet patient needs.
  • Instruct patients and caregivers in OT techniques under supervision of an OT.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all treated patients.
  • Perform equipment checks and report maintenance needs when necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Responsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.
  • Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
  • Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  • Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
  • Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
  • Implements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.
  • Provides individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in such areas as, but not limited to:
    • cognitive skills
    • muscle strength
    • coordination
    • endurance
    • mobility
    • perceptual abilities
    • sensory awareness
    • sitting and standing tolerance
    • balance
    • activities of daily living
    • joint protection
    • work simplification
    • orientation

  • Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Must have a valid license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.
  • Must have a valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patients' residence.
Posted Salary Range

USD $35.00 - USD $44.00 /Hr.
