Powerback Rehabilitation in Laconia, NH is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our mobile outpatient therapy team on a PRN, less-than-15-hours-per-week schedule.

You will collaborate with licensed therapists to deliver patient-centered OT services across assisted living and residential communities, complete timely documentation, and support patient education. Valid COTA license and driver's license required; travel within service area may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to patients’ residences.

Responsibilities

  • Attends and contributes to patient care and staffing conferences as a representative of occupational therapy.
  • Adheres to department and patient treatment schedules; completes timely clinical and billing documentation.
  • Collaborates with rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities matching patient needs.
  • Instructs patients, families and caregivers in OT techniques under supervision.
  • Maintains documentation for all treated patients in a timely manner.
  • Cleans and reports equipment maintenance or repair needs as necessary.
  • Puts patient service first by delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
  • Implements individualized treatment plans as established by the OT.
  • Provides OT interventions including cognitive skills, strength, balance, and ADL training.

Responsibilities

  1. Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
  2. Responsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.
  3. Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
  4. Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
  5. Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  6. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
  7. Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
  8. Implements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.
  9. Provides individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in such areas as, but not limited to:
    • cognitive skills
    • muscle strength
    • coordination
    • endurance
    • mobility
    • perceptual abilities
    • sensory awareness
    • sitting and standing tolerance
    • balance
    • activities of daily living
    • joint protection
    • work simplification
    • orientation
    • physical agent modalities
    • low vision
    • falls risk management
    • medication management
    • health and wellness
    • community integration and reintegration
  10. Performs other related duties as required.

Posted Salary Range

USD $35.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr.
