The role emphasizes implementing and adjusting treatment plans, delivering tailored interventions, educating patients and families, and maintaining accurate documentation in the EMR. Collaboration with the care team is essential.

Qualifications

• COTA with NBCOT certification.
• BLS certification required within 30 days.
• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and adjust treatment plans with the evaluating therapist and document communications.
• Deliver interventions tailored to physical, cognitive, behavioral, and environmental factors.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and the care team using effective teaching methods.
• Complete accurate notes and billing documentation in the EMR.
• Communicate progress and recommendations with referring providers and the team.
• Perform ROM assessments and train patients in ADLs (e.g., dressing, cooking).
• Serve as a resource for conflict resolution and quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and adjust treatment plans based on patient response, collaborating with the evaluating therapist and documenting communication.
• Deliver interventions tailored to patients' physical, cognitive, and behavioral needs, considering emotional and environmental factors.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members using effective teaching methods.
• Complete accurate documentation, including therapy notes and billing in the EMR system.
• Communicate progress and treatment recommendations with referring providers and team members.
• Perform range of motion assessments and train patients in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing and cooking skills.
• Serve as a resource for conflict resolution and contribute to quality service initiatives.
