Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support patient care at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. The role involves clinical supervision of OTA students and assisting therapists in inpatient settings.

Full-time position with typical weekday hours, potential weekend coverage as needed. Requires an OTA degree, Indiana licensure, and BLS certification; NBCOT preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana OT license required; BLS certification.
• NBCOT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in clinical education of OTA students and supervise student activities.

Location:

Shift:

Full-Time, Mon - Fri, one weekend day/ month may be required.

Experience:

3 months of acute care experience preferred. Will consider new grads with acute care fieldwork experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:

COTA's assist in the clinical education of occupational therapy students and clinical supervision of occupational therapist assistant students as well as provide guidance and supervision for support personnel. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.

• Requires an Associate's Degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program, or if foreign trained, graduation from an assistant occupational therapy education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
• Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
