Job summary

AdventHealth in Apopka, FL is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the therapy team in delivering patient-centered care. You will implement treatment plans, document progress, and educate patients and families with home exercise guidance.

This on-site, full-time role requires an OTA credential and BLS CPR, with NBCOT preferred. Applicants should understand insurance guidelines, clinical standards, and communicate effectively with the care team and patients.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required for OTA role.
• Licenses: OTA required, BLS CPR required.
• NBCOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans established by the occupational therapist; and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
• Uses appropriate therapy procedures, documents data, and follows individualized care plans set by the occupational therapist.
• Provides patient and family education, including home exercise programs for treatment carryover into the discharge setting.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.
• Conducts age-appropriate assessments and interventions, completing annual age-specific competencies relevant to the scope of care.

Job Description:
