Job summary

MSWA is seeking passionate Occupational Therapists and Senior Occupational Therapists to join our team at Vasse or Bunbury Services Centre. You will deliver comprehensive OT services for individuals with neurological conditions and work with a skilled healthcare team to support independence and daily living.

You will conduct detailed assessments, navigate funding for equipment, and mentor OT students while contributing to a flexible, nine‑day fortnight and work‑life balance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy (or equivalent qualification).
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Driver’s License: Australian “C” Class with no restrictions.
  • Provide First Aid and CPR certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive OT assessments in homes and workplaces addressing daily living, physical, sensory, and cognitive needs.
  • Collaborate with clients, families and external stakeholders to design and implement interventions and facilitate equipment provision.
  • Navigate funding models to ensure clients receive the equipment they need.
  • Offer palliative care sensitivity to clients requiring dignity and comfort.
  • Maintain accurate client records for high‑quality, continuous care.
  • Mentor OT students, OTAs, and volunteers to develop future professionals.

Job description

This is a permanent full-time role (75 hours per fortnight), although part‑time work may be considered for the right candidate.

We’re currently seeking passionate Occupational Therapists and Senior Occupational Therapists to join our team at Vasse or Bunbury Services Centre. In this fulfilling role, you’ll be at the heart of delivering comprehensive OT services for individuals living with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Stroke, and Acquired Brain Injuries.

You’ll collaborate closely with clients to develop personalised interventions, empower them to achieve their goals, and enhance their independence in daily life. Your role will also involve supporting individuals in managing complex symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disturbance, cognitive changes, thermoregulation, upper limb and hand dysfunction. Additionally, you’ll introduce advanced assistive technology solutions to improve their overall quality of life.

How You’ll Contribute:

Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct detailed OT assessments in a variety of settings, including homes and workplaces, addressing daily living, physical, sensory, and cognitive needs.

Collaborative Care: Work closely with clients, families, and external stakeholders (including equipment suppliers) to design and implement effective interventions and facilitate equipment provision.

Navigate Funding Models: Demonstrate expertise in managing and navigating funding models to ensure clients receive the equipment they need.

Palliative Care Sensitivity: Offer support with sensitivity and competence to clients requiring palliative care, ensuring dignity and comfort in their final stages.

Accurate Documentation: Maintain precise, up‑to‑date client records to ensure high‑quality, continuous care.

Mentorship: Share your knowledge by mentoring OT students, OTAs, and volunteers, contributing to the development of future OT professionals.

Essential Requirements:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy (or equivalent qualification).

Registration: Current registration with AHPRA.

Driver’s License: Valid Australian “C” Class Driver’s License (with no restrictions).

NDIS Worker Screening Check: (or willingness to obtain).
