Job summary

UPMC Children's Satellite in Erie, PA is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on pediatric therapy that is play-based, evidence-informed, and tailored to each child's development, with a strong family-centered approach.

You will collaborate with physicians and therapists across the department, contribute to launching a new satellite location, and help children reach their fullest potential through personalized care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation of assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries per department standards.
• Communicate patient status to referring physicians and health care team members.
• Complete charge and statistics for services rendered.
• Schedule patients to meet productivity standards while delivering quality care.
• Provide home instructions to patients and families as applicable.
• Perform OT assessment, reassessment, and treatment for pediatric patients.
• Develop and update plan of care with goals and treatment plans.
• Modify plan of care based on patient response and status.
• Rotate through treatment areas to support organizational needs.

UPMC offers a robust career ladder - Title and Rate of Pay will be based on Education and Experience. Starting rate of pay for an Occupational Therapist is 32.46/hour.

• Maintains written documentation for all occupational therapy services rendered, including documentation of initial assessment, follow-up visits, and discharge summary consistent with department standards.
• Communicates patient status to the referring physician and other health care team members.
• Completes necessary charge and statistical information to accurately reflect the service rendered to the patient.
• Schedules patients to achieve and maintain a level of productivity which meets or exceeds the standard established for the facility by the organization while ensuring delivery of quality patient care.
• Provides verbal and/or written home instructions to patients and/or family members when applicable.
• Performs occupational therapy assessment, reassessment, and treatment for pediatric patients referred by a physician to the clinic.
• Develops a plan of care including goals and treatment plans in accordance with physician referral, nature of injury/illness and results of occupational therapy assessment.
• Modifies or adjusts plan of care based on patient's response to treatment and/or changes in patient's status.
• Rotates through selected treatment areas when necessary to facilitate organizational needs.
