Job summary

Responsibilities

• Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff to plan therapy services.
• Assist in developing and maintaining occupational therapy standards of practice.
• Assist in standardizing methods for delivering occupational therapy.
• Maintain departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance, safety, and infection control.
• Interpret occupational therapy policies to staff, residents, and families as needed.
• Document using authorized abbreviations per Facility standards.
• Participate in discharge planning and care plan development.
• Instruct residents and families in home programs and use of adaptive equipment.
• Maintain resident files and treatment records.
• Collaborate with Facility consultants and implement recommended changes.
• Ensure charges for therapy services are coded correctly for billing.
