Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have degree from an Occupational Therapy program and OT licensure.
• NBCOT certification required.
• BLS certification required within facility policy timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assess and directly administer occupational therapy modalities.
• Interacts professionally with patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious needs of patients and families.
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, families and co-workers.
• Performs age-appropriate assessments and reassessments across patient populations.
• Supervises and delegates tasks to assistants and support staff.
• Administers treatment with physical agent modalities and equipment.
• Plans individualized treatment programs to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning.
• Educates patients and families and involves them in teaching as appropriate.
• Develops discharge plans from therapy services.
• Provides guidance on adaptive equipment and support programs.
