Job summary

Sweetwater Care seeks an Occupational Therapist to design and supervise treatments for patients recovering from illness or injury in our California facility. You will assess conditions, develop individualized plans, and guide patients through therapeutic exercise and massage to support healing.

You will document progress, communicate with supervisors and health teams, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while supervising assistants and students as needed.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and health teams.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms; review medical history and referrals.
• Diagnose movement dysfunction by observing patients as they move.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Coach patients and teach therapeutic massage to ease pain and promote healing.
• Maintain patient records and track goals.
• Use standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide interventions.
• Assess progress and adjust treatments in clinical records to meet regulations.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services accordingly.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and other providers.
