Job summary

Preserve Rehab & Living Center in Fort Myers, FL seeks an Occupational Therapist to join our team. This PRN/part-time role offers a competitive hourly wage and the chance to provide meaningful rehab in a welcoming campus setting.

Responsibilities include evaluating residents, supervising staff, planning and coordinating OT services, and maintaining accurate treatment records. Florida OT licensure is required, with prior long-term care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an Occupational Therapy curriculum or eligible for certification overseen by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Minimum of one year experience as an OT in a long-term care facility.
• Ability to understand medical terminology and apply it to OT to communicate effectively and prepare reports.
• Dexterity to manipulate tools/materials while instructing residents.
• Adequate strength and endurance for physical demands of equipment and patient activities.
• Must be licensed or registered in state as an OT.
• Ability to use computers and electronic devices for timekeeping, inservicing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates residents and provides OT upon written physician order.
• Supervises OT assistants and rehabilitation aides in direct patient care.
• Plans, coordinates and evaluates the OT services offered by the department.
• Provides OT to residents as ordered by physicians.
• Supervises delivery of OT services to ensure performance levels.
• Maintains treatment records with progress notes and observations.
• Participates in resident care planning conferences as needed.
