Day Kimball Health is hiring an Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient Physical Medicine Department in Danielson, CT. The role involves organizing and administering prescribed occupational therapy programs to reduce disability and help patients achieve maximum functional potential.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, documenting progress, educating patients and families, and collaborating with physicians.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Connecticut licensure is required.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients as prescribed by referring physician.
• Records treatment, response, progress and discharge information in patient’s chart or computer.
• Educates patient, family and significant others regarding condition, treatment and home program.
• Routinely confers with physician and other practitioners regarding progress, regression or change of plan.
• Orients, instructs, and directs assistants, aides and students.
• Maintains professional growth by attending department meetings and educational conferences.
• Assists with planning and implementation of new programs.

Under the general direction of the Physical Medicine Director, the Occupational Therapist organizes and administers prescribed occupational therapy programs in an effort to reduce and/or prevent disability to help patients achieve their maximum functional potential.
