Mederi Caretenders, part of the Optum family, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess and address patient care needs related to functional status, daily living activities, and home safety.

You will develop therapy plans with physicians, educate patients and families, and deliver home-based therapy across Florida, ensuring compassionate, standards-driven care in diverse home environments. Pay ranges hourly from $34.23 to $61.15, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Active Occupational Therapy license in state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license with access to a vehicle or reliable public transportation.
  • Ability to function effectively in diverse home environments regardless of client background.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the patient's functional status, status of all body systems as required for CMS documentation, and occupational therapy needs. Consults with the physician in the development of the therapy plan of care.
  • Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition.
  • Conducts patient assessments evaluating the level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests.
  • Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and participating members of the health care team in the areas of therapy in which they can participate to assist the patient.

As the Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments, adaptive equipment, and other occupational therapy needs as defined by medical conditions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Evaluates the patient's functional status, status of all body systems as required for CMS documentation, and occupational therapy needs. Consults with the physician in the development of the therapy plan of care.
  • Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition.

Required Qualifications
  • Current Occupational Therapy licensure in state of practice
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
  • Demonstrated ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
