University Hospitals Parma Inpatient is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist (20 hours/week) to join a multidisciplinary rehab team. The role focuses on evaluating and treating patients to restore function, with an emphasis on education, discharge planning, and PHI compliance in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program and licensed in Ohio or eligible for a limited permit.

Qualifications

• Organizes and conducts Occupational Therapy program to facilitate rehabilitation.
• Develops effective treatment plans within the care continuum.
• Educates patient/family/caregiver on health information, treatment and prevention.
• Initiates and participates in discharge planning.
• Performs documentation, billing and department support tasks.
• Complies with PHI and UH policies and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Plan and implement OT interventions for rehabilitation.
• Assess patients and tailor treatment to age and needs.
• Educate patients and families about treatment and prevention.
• Participate in discharge planning and care coordination.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with billing as needed.

Occupational Therapist Parma Inpatient Part Time - ( 260009BA )

• Organizes and conducts Occupational Therapy program to facilitate the rehabilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities.
• The Occupational Therapist directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to restore, re-enforce and correct pathology to promote and/or maintain good health.
• Performs evaluation(s) and develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum.
• Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
• Initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
• Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
• Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
• Part time 20 hours per week.
• Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.
• Day shift.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required.
• Evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Occupational Therapy appropriate to the developmental and chronological age of patients on caseload. (Required proficiency)
• Professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency)
• Physically, cognitively and perceptually able to provide patient treatment and able to assist in physical mobility of patients and equipment. (Required proficiency)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 Days.
• Is awaiting Ohio licensure status of Limited Permit required.
• Licensed by the State of Ohio to practice Occupational Therapy required.
