Sigma Health Rehab is recruiting a part-time, per diem Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at Amsterdam Center in New York, NY. The role focuses on skilled nursing facility rehab for Saturday shifts, with opportunities for mentorship and clinical support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
• Current New York State OT License.
• Experience in skilled nursing or rehab setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents’ conditions and develop rehab plans.
• Relieve residents' pain using exercises, hands-on therapy and stretching.
• Help residents through tasks and monitor their performance.
• Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members.
• Contributes to team effort and adheres to facility guidelines.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Evaluate residents’ conditions & develop appropriate physical rehabilitation plans
• Relieve resident’s pain using exercises, hands-on therapy & stretching
• Help residents through their tasks and monitor their performance
• Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants
• Maintain resident confidence & protects facility by keeping information confidential
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members &contributes to team effort

OT Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
• Current New York State OT License
