Job summary

Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess and plan patient care, design treatment plans, implement modalities, and document progress.

You will supervise assistants, educate patients and families, and ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory standards. MT state licensure required; Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.

  • Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in MT.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient's ability to perform occupational skills and design an appropriate plan of care.
  • Implement the treatment plan using suitable modalities and supervise progress.
  • Document subjective and objective patient findings and progress for regulatory needs.
  • Supervise and delegate care to certified assistants and technicians as allowed by law.
  • Educate patient and family about deficits and discharge planning as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and equipment; meet professional standards.

Position Summary

Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment. Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary. Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs. Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.

How you'll contribute
  • Develop a specialized treatment plan to help him/her achieve as much as possible in regaining his/her well-being through exercise and/or use of prosthetic and orthotic devices. You and your staff will play an important role in his/her recovery
  • Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs
  • Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition
  • Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the standards of the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws
  • Other duties as assigned
