Job summary

Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them maximize function and independence.

The OT will develop and implement treatment plans, maintain patient records, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support community reintegration and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
• Current OT registration with state/professional body as required.
• Proficiency with applicable state and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Administers evaluations and writes assessments per standards.
• Designs and administers patient treatment programs.
• Maintains accurate patient records and reports.
• Coordinates with staff to achieve functional goals.
• Instructs patients and families in home programs.

Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

The Registered Occupational Therapist will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, and help patients reach maximum performance level and to use skills learned to the fullest to function in the community within the limits of their capabilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Administers and writes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
• Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
• Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals.
• Designs and administers treatment programs
• Designs home programs and instructs patients or families in carrying out such programs.
• Participates in patient support groups with other team members.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge and skills to care for patient needs of the SNF population
• Must possess problem solving skills to successfully perform job
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with other employees, patients, and family members
• Ability to travel as needed to perform job

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
• Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards

Physical Requirements:

• Duties require extensive standing and walking.
• Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.
• Duties require frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
