Job summary

A leading mobile outpatient therapy provider is seeking an Occupational Therapist in Methuen, MA. In this role, you will deliver outpatient rehabilitation services in patients' homes, ensuring they receive high-quality care. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and is licensed to practice. Qualifications

• Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice.
• Valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patient's residence.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting.
• Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs.
• Direct patient participation in selected tasks.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and support personnel.
• Maintain adherence to treatment schedules and documentation.
• Attend patient care and staffing conferences.
• Consult with the rehabilitation team for therapeutic regimens.
• Adapt program based on individual patient needs.
• Promote a safe environment and enforce safety standards.
• Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to design treatment plans.
• Design and apply adaptive devices; train patients in use.
• Instruct patients in functional activities and evaluate progress.

Responsibilities

• Primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population.
• Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation.
• Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as required.
• Maintain adherence to department and patient treatment schedules, documentation, and meetings.
• Attend patient care, staffing, and related conferences.
• Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs.
• Consult with the rehabilitation team, including the community physician, to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
• Adapt program and/or plan of care based on individual patient needs.
• Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards.
• Order supplies and equipment as necessary; clean, maintain, and report equipment issues.
• Put patients and families first: ensure highest quality of service in a caring, compassionate atmosphere.
• Screen, examine, evaluate patients and design treatment plans, applying therapeutic techniques in areas such as:

• Perform routine reexamination as needed to modify/progress treatment plan.
• Perform other related duties as required.
