Job summary

FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers in Sherman, TX is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our orthopedic clinic. This role focuses on evaluating patients, diagnosing activity limitations, and developing individualized treatment plans to improve function and independence.

The OT will implement evidence-based rehabilitation for orthopedic, vestibular, and balance issues, while tracking progress and educating patients for continued care.

Qualifications

• Accredited OT program graduate.
• Current Texas OT licensure or eligibility.
• Experience creating outpatient orthopedic, balance, and vestibular rehab plans.
• Ability to work autonomously and learn continuously.
• Passion for orthopedic, vestibular, balance, neuro, and fall-risk patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform new-patient evaluations and exams.

Responsibilities

• Perform new-patient evaluations/exams
• Diagnose patients; evaluate physical activity limitations
• Create a plan that sets a goal and completion date
• Equip patients with OT intervention techniques/exercises; track progress
• Provide education to patients on techniques for the continuation of care
• Examine and evaluate new patients
• Establish a diagnosis of condition or conditions and their impact on activity
• Establish a plan goal and time frame
• Prescribe intervention techniques and exercises
• Measure and track intervention effectiveness
• Educate the patient on continuing care

Skills & Qualifications

• Accredited OT program graduate
• Up-to-date state OT license or eligible for licensure in Texas
• Able to create and implement outpatient orthopedic, balance, and vestibular rehabilitation-setting treatment plans
• Ability to work efficiently/effectively in an autonomous environment
• Must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn
• Passion for working with orthopedic, vestibular, balance, neurological, and fall-risk patient population
